About This Saddle
This Bob Avila signature show saddle built by Bob's Custom Saddle is the most fully-silvered example of the three Bob Avila builds in David Solum's current inventory — and the defining feature is immediately visible: a large engraved sterling silver swell cap that wraps the horn and swell in a continuous piece of hand-engraved silver edged in ball trim. Combined with the full silver skirt overlays, engraved conchos, and silver dee hardware, the total silver package on this saddle is exceptional.
The underlying leatherwork is equally impressive — deep dark-oil full floral tooling covers every surface in a rich chocolate tone that was set for competition. The 16" dark chocolate smooth leather seat is the preferred competition size in NRHA and cow horse circles. The Bob Avila branded stirrup housings and the quality of construction throughout confirm what the silver already announces: this saddle was built for the show pen.
